Smoking...
It is now illegal in Scotland to sell tobacco and tobacco products to anyone under the age of 18 (an increase from 16). Will this help to reduce the number of young people smoking? more info >

keeping safe
Young people may experiment with substances so here are a few points about keeping safe:
star Before drinking it is important to ensure you have eaten well as it will slow down alcohol absorbing into the body
star Look after you drink, being aware that somebody might try to spike your drink, keep your drink close to you, and if you are in a pub or club and someone wants to buy you a drink – go to the bar with them. (FACT: the most common drug used to spike people’s drink is ALCOHOL)
star Try to space your drinks out and be aware of when you have had enough – know your limits.
star Make sure you stay with your pals – people you trust. Don’t go off on your own with people you don’t know that well.
star If one of your friends have passed out after drinking or taking drugs – DON’T LEAVE THEM! Don’t be afraid to call someone for help, and put them in the recovery position in case they are sick
