Fulfilling Responsibilities

What we are

Fast Forward is a charity registered in Scotland and a company limited by guarantee. As a charity we have received funding and financial support from a number of sources including national and local government, independent trusts and philanthropic bodies, and from income generation through publications and training provision.

How we operate

We run our organisation responsibly and ethically, fully in accordance with the statutory requirements of the Office of the Scottish Charities Regulator (OSCR) and Companies House.

We adhere to the financial regulations requiring accounts to be audited or independently examined. We have a qualified Chartered Accountant as our Treasurer and we use an hr/employment law company to provide expert services.

Our governance

Fast Forward’s Board is recruited in an open and transparent fashion and a range of skills are represented in its membership. The Board meets on average six times per annum and it is responsible for the strategic, financial and legal operation of the organisation. Fast Forward has a wide range of policies to direct its internal operations, including child protection, health and safety and a volunteers policy.

We require all staff and volunteers to be part of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups scheme.

Policy and practice

There is a clear commitment in the organisation to adhering to the GIRFEC principles (Getting it Right for Every Child) and our project work is aligned to these and to supporting a Curriculum for Excellence. We are pleased to be contributing to the national outcomes for Scotland’s young people.

Scottish Peer Education Network

SPEN is a project run by Fast Forward that promotes and supports peer education. Free resources, news, support and advice are all a click away.
