We are Fast Forward, a national voluntary organisation that exists to give young people the skills, education and support to live healthier lives. By developing projects, workshops and publications we help young people understand the facts about drugs, alcohol and tobacco. Through our work young people learn to make informed health choices; choices that can change their lives. One of our strengths is developing and supporting peer education approaches and providing training and volunteering opportunities for a range of young people. Some will have disadvantaged backgrounds, having experienced addiction, homelessness, school exclusion or family problems. We also provide a wide range of training for other professionals who work with young people; and we deliver these from the perspectives of young people.
Our staff and volunteers know the facts and many have personally dealt with the issues that young people face. It gives us a unique strength allowing us to deliver relevant and focused services with a framework and structure that help change young people’s perspectives.
