Peer Education really is the People’s Choice!

Peer Education really is the People’s Choice!

The No Knives, Better Lives Peer Education Project was voted winner of the People’s Choice at the Scottish Community Safety Network’s (SCSN) community safety awards last week. The award, sponsored by Network Rail, received over 1,000 votes and Sonal, our peer education co-ordinator, couldn’t be more thrilled!

“It’s fantastic for the young people that have been a part of this project to get recognition for their commitments to making Scotland safer. This award highlights some of great positive contributions young people are making and hopefully will encourage them to become more involved in their communities.”

Fast Forward has been running this project since 2011 and look forward to seeing how it continues to grow over the coming year.
Some of the comments left on the SCSN website by voters can be seen below:

“Knife crime and violence is an issue that affects young people, communities and families-so it's great to see young people taking the lead in addressing this.”

“I was a young person that took part in this programme and I have learnt a lot and I am also looking forward to help promote this to other young people.”

“A great way of working with young people to help them take control and greater ownership and responsibility.”
