And the winner is...

And the winner is...

And the winner is….

Fast Forward and SPEN are delighted to announce that the winner of our sponsored category at the YouthLink Youth Worker of the Year Awards was

Nicole Borthwick from Xplore Peer Mentoring in Dundee

Nicole now has 500 hours of volunteering under her belt and helps run a drop-in for other young people. She is also supporting others with independent travel. Despite the many obstacles in her own life she puts these aside in order to support her peers. Young people, staff and other volunteers can see Nicole loves what she does and selflessly gives so much of her own time to help others

Fast Forward had a wonderful evening at the event, celebrating outstanding individuals and organisations from across Scotland.

Chief Executive, Alastair MacKinnon said, “The evening was a real celebratory occasion with so many inspiring young people and youth workers. I was left in awe by their achievements and dedication. It was also a real fun way to recognise the variety of great youth work that takes place in Scotland. Grant Stott did a great job in recognising everyone’s achievements – winners and runners up, and it was a pleasure for me to present the Peer Educator Award, with the Minister Aileen Campbell, to Nicole. A truly worthy winner. And… of course don’t we all scrub up really well! “
